Overstock / Bed Bath & Beyond for suppliers

How to increase sales on Overstock / Bed Bath & Beyond as a supplier

Updated

Two of the highest-volume home goods storefronts online, run by one company, on one supplier portal. Here's how the channel works, why supplier listings under-perform, and everything our team manages there every day.

The short answer

To sell more on Overstock / Bed Bath & Beyond as a supplier: confirm every item you submitted is live and buyable; send an accurate inventory feed daily and confirm it was accepted; complete every listing — images with room scenes, video, every dimension and weight, a search-friendly title; set up sets and options as one product; ship inside your stated fulfillment time; keep your cost competitive; and reconcile every payment against deductions. Or hand it to a team that does it every day.

If you already sell here, you know the list

Supplier Oasis. The partner application and category approval — home goods only. Deciding between 1P and 3P and setting the cost or the retail price accordingly. API credentials that expire every 90 days. Warehouse codes, fulfillment time, expedited flags, replenishable flags. Carrier mapping to their approved list. 850 purchase orders, 856 ship notices and 846 inventory files through Rithum, or the portal. Their freight and consignment programs. Paid placement. Returns handled to their rules. Payments that net out returns, claims and program fees.

Every one of those is a place to lose a sale or lose money. Our team runs all of them for home furnishing suppliers, every day, inside your account. You keep the account and the relationship; we do the work.

How selling on Overstock / Bed Bath & Beyond actually works

Beyond, Inc. runs both storefronts on an asset-light model: it holds very little inventory and relies on supplier partners to drop-ship. You're approved as a partner, you list products through Supplier Oasis, and each order is passed to you to fulfill inside the fulfillment time you set. Depending on your setup you sell to them as a 1P supplier (they buy at your cost and set retail) or list as a 3P partner (you set the selling price). Inventory, orders, tracking and content run through the portal, by API, or through Rithum (formerly CommerceHub) by EDI.

Because the retailer sells from your feed, three things decide your sales: whether the item is live and in stock at the moment a shopper searches, how complete the listing is when they land on it, and whether you ship inside the time you promised.

Everything we manage for you on Overstock / Bed Bath & Beyond

Getting set up and staying compliant

  • Partner application and category approval; 1P vs 3P setup and the pricing rules that follow from it
  • Supplier Oasis account and user administration; partner-support tickets opened, chased and closed
  • Integration setup — API credentials (and the 90-day refresh), warehouse codes, fulfillment time, expedited and replenishable flags, carrier mapping to the retailer's approved carriers — or Rithum/EDI (850, 856, 846) where that's the route
  • Freight and consignment program enrollment where it helps delivery speed and cost

Catalog and content

  • Item creation to the retailer's spec: unique product pages, full dimensions and weights, carton and box data, materials, assembly and care, category and attribute mapping
  • Titles built from the words shoppers search; feature bullets; descriptions written for the room
  • Images to spec — white-background main, angles, room scenes, close-ups; product video
  • Sets and options set up as one product page, inventory tied to components
  • Cost or price management and change submissions; sale-event and promotion participation
  • New items introduced and discontinued items retired cleanly

Orders and inventory

  • Daily inventory to the retailer, accurate to your warehouse, confirmed accepted, reconciled against what the storefront shows; multi-warehouse where you use it
  • Orders acknowledged and shipped inside the fulfillment time; tracking uploaded in the retailer's carrier format; LTL and white-glove for oversized items
  • Daily item-status check across the catalog; suppressed and inactive items restored

Getting paid

Why supplier products under-perform here

  1. 1

Items aren't live — suppressed for missing attributes, image rule failures, incomplete shipping data. Most suppliers we audit have items down without knowing it.

  2. 2

The inventory feed is stale — the retailer sells from the last feed it accepted.

  3. 3

Thin listings lose — content completeness drives ranking and conversion.

  4. 4

Sets and options are split across weak listings.

  5. 5

    Late shipments cost placement.

  6. 6

    Deductions go unchallenged.

Frequently asked questions

How do I become a supplier on Overstock / Bed Bath & Beyond?

Apply through the retailer's partner program — home goods categories only. Once approved you get Supplier Oasis access, set up your integration, and list products either at a cost (1P) or a selling price (3P). Orders are drop-shipped by you.

Is it one account for both Overstock and Bed Bath & Beyond?

Both storefronts are run by the same company on the same partner systems. Which storefront and which programs your products qualify for depends on category and the retailer's current setup — we confirm it on the call.

Why is my product not showing?

Most often it's suppressed for a missing attribute, an image that fails spec, or incomplete shipping data. The item report in the portal lists the reason.

What is the difference between 1P and 3P here?

1P means the retailer buys from you at your cost and sets the retail price. 3P means you set the selling price and the retailer takes a share. The setup, pricing rules and reporting differ, and the choice affects your margin.

Can Grow ECommerce run this channel for us if we already sell there?

Yes — that's the most common situation. We audit what's live, fix and complete the listings, reconcile the payments, and take over the daily work inside your account.
